Montgomery County Humane Society Pet-of-the-Week

Hello! My name is Polo! Some of the dogs here think it is really funny to bark "Marko" as I go down the dog run row! HaHa!! I am a hound mix that is about a year old. Did you see my pretty golden coat with the white on my chest and face? Most people here think I am pretty cute! I had an owner but he turned me in because he could not afford to keep me. Since I have been here I have gotten all of my vaccinations, I was tested for heartworms, I got a microchip, and I have been neutered. I am as big as I am going to be, which makes me a nice medium size dog. I think I would be a great playmate for a child or a great jogging partner for an adult. The volunteers here at the shelter love to take me for walks and I will sit for a treat! I am flexible and can fit into almost any family situation. Why don't you come by for a visit? You could bring the kids and we could play in the play yard. Then you would see what an excellent choice I would be for your family!

Hey! I am Bud and I want to be your best buddy! I am a one year old shepherd mix. I have lived through some scary times in my short life. I came from Mississippi. Our shelter was being flooded by a hurricane. The HUSU came to our rescue with a great big horse trailer! Yep, they loaded up that horse trailer with crates full of dogs and cats and brought us to dry ground. Some of us stayed here and others went on up to the northeast. I am liking Alabama because the temperature is about the same as where I came from, so I plan on staying here. I can act just a little bit silly in my dog run sometimes, because I am so anxious to see you! If you take me out for a walk, I know you would like me. Then maybe you could adopt me and we could go home together.

Hi, I am Blade. The wonderful deputies here at the shelter rescued me from a terrible situation. I was not being treated very nicely in my other home. They saw what was happening and they took me away. Thank goodness! I feel very lucky to be here getting a chance to have another home. I am about two years old. I am a retriever, lab, bulldog mix. You can see that I am solid black. But on the top of my head I have a copper colored stripe. It looks almost like a headband that little girls wear! Believe me I am not a girl! Since I have been here I have gotten all of my shots, I was treated for heartworms, I got a microchip, and I was neutered. Everyone here says that I am a well mannered dog. I am very polite. I sit while you put on my leash. I know I am a plain black dog, but I have a heart of gold. I would give anything to have a home where I could feel safe and loved. I would love my people forever and be the best dog they ever had!

Hey there Buddy! My name is Maynard and I am a people dog! That's right I just love people. Well I also like other dogs, but people are my favorites! My previous owners brought me here because they thought I was too active. Well I do love to play and I need exercise and fun time with my favorite "peeps." I am a retriever mix and I am about eight months old. I have all of my vaccinations, I am heartworm negative, I have a microchip, and I have already been neutered. If you are looking for a fun loving guy with a ton of charm and good looks, then look no further. I am at the shelter waiting on you to come and adopt me! Hurry up!

Hi there! My name is Yoshi! What a funny name, don't you think? Well you won't believe this, but I was rescued from a McDonald's! Yes that is right. I was hanging around there hoping to get some food. Some nice folks saw me and knew that I would get hurt with all of the cars that drove through the parking lot. So they picked me up and brought me to the shelter. I am really glad they did, because I am safe now. The folks here have been just great! They have given me all of my shots for my age, they gave me a microchip, and they had me neutered. I am ready to begin my new life! In case you were wondering I am a shepherd mix and I am about eight months old! By chance were looking for a puppy to grow up with the kids? Well look no further! I am here! Just come and adopt me!

Hello, I am Jacee. I arrived here at the shelter a few months ago in a terrible predicament! I had no home and I was about to have puppies. Well I had my puppies and the great people here took good care of us. Now everyone has a home except me! Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am a retriever/lab mix. I am almost two years old. I have all of my vaccinations. I was tested for heartworms and I am negative. I have a microchip. And I have been spayed. No more puppies for me! I am such a love bug! They had trouble taking my picture today because I wanted to lean against the person that brought me out. I hope I didn't ruin my pictures! I am hoping that someone will want a sweet momma dog to come to live at their house. I won't be having anymore puppies, but I will stay right beside you and watch over my new person just like a momma would!

Hello! I am BB! I am not sure if BB actually stands for anything or not, so I just go by BB! I am a retriever mix and I am about a year old. I have a good looking brindle coat, a handsome face, and a load of personality! Yep that's right. I am a friendly, full of life, fun kind of guy! I love to do things outside like run, jog, and play with tug toys! I had an owner at one time, but I think I was just too much for him. I have all of my vaccinations, I am heartworm negative, I have a microchip, and I have already been neutered. I would be a great companion for someone that needed a jogging partner. Golly that would be great if we could run together. It would be good for you because you could get in shape, and it would be great for me because I love to be active. If you have an active lifestyle or you would like to start an active lifestyle, then come to the shelter and ask for BB. I will be waiting with my jogging shoes on!
