Kerry Palmer Named Trinity Head of School | News
The Trinity Presbyterian School Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that Mr. Kerry Palmer
will assume the position of Head of School following the departure of Mr. Bob Neu at the end of
the current school year. Mr. Palmer is currently serving in his fifth year as Trinity’s Middle
School Principal.
The Board of Trustee’s Search Committee worked with SIMA International, a leading national
and international executive search firm, to conduct a wide-ranging search for our next Head of
School. SIMA carried out a thorough series of onsite and online surveys to construct a very
detailed profile of our school. This profile was then used to help determine priorities for the
school and desired characteristics for head of school candidates. Over 100 potential candidates
were contacted during the search, with three ultimately interviewed in person by the Search
Committee and groups comprised of parents and school staff.
The Search Committee consistently sought the person who could address the two primary objectives
identified by the SIMA survey process: increased academic achievement and spiritual development
for our students. The Committee believed these objectives were directly related to
Trinity’s mission of honoring God through college preparatory education of the highest quality,
based on a biblical world and life view.
When the process was completed, the Search Committee recognized that Mr. Palmer is uniquely
gifted to successfully lead Trinity in the attainment of these objectives. He was recognized at all
turns of the search process as being innovative, decisive, well-spoken, forthright, energetic, and
in accord with the values of Trinity and its families. His personal testimony is genuine and articulate,
and will be a credit to our school.
“To say that I am deeply humbled by this move is an understatement,” said Mr. Palmer. "My role
is changing, and I am looking forward to a new era in my life and career, as well as for Trinity
School. Trinity’s best days lie ahead!”
Mr. Palmer went on to say, he “deeply appreciates the parents, teachers, staff members, and students
with whom I interact each day. There is not a finer group of people assembled anywhere!”
Mr. Palmer and his wife Robyn have two children, Lee Ann, 11, and Benton, 8. Both are students
at Trinity. He is a 1995 graduate of Troy University, and received a Master of Education
degree from Auburn University in Montgomery in 2003. Prior to Trinity, Mr. Palmer was Middle
School Vice-Principal at Montgomery Catholic School, with earlier teaching experience in public
school systems in Montgomery, Tallassee, and Ashburn, Georgia. He is a Montgomery native,
and active in several civic organizations. He and his family are members of First Baptist Church
in Montgomery, where he is very active in the music program.
